Hi my name is Joseph Souto and I’d like to introduce you to the BAJO 20. Being born and raised in South Florida I’ve spent my entire life on and around the ocean. Growing up in a boating family I was exposed to life on the water from an early age. As a child growing up any spare time my father and his family had while building their business was spent together on the water. Whether it was a Sunday cruise to Elliot key for swimming and cuban sandwiches, or running to Chubb Cay with my grandfather to fish for mutton on the full moon… we did it as a family. My youth was filled with fishing, spearfishing, wakeboarding, exploring, and any other water activity you can imagine. Some of my fondest memories were our trips to the Bahamas during the 80’s and 90’s, every summer we would spend two to four weeks exploring the island chain and waters of the Caribbean. A caravan of sportfish boats and tenders frequently ten or more accompanied by family and friends. By the time I was a teen there were few parts of the Bahamas we weren’t familiar with. This love for the ocean and watercraft has continued throughout my life, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of experiencing all types of craft. My first boat as a preteen was an 11 foot Boston whaler given to me by my grandfather, the whaler had seen better days being that it had sat on the bow of his sport fish for years with little use. was given to me by my father at age 11 . Boating is a bond that I share with my family. and we still keep this bond alive. Chasing blue marlin during season with my dad in long island Bahamas, or cruising the flats off the upper keys with my wife looking for tailing fish. My grandfather Jose passed his passion for fishing and boating on to my father and I. Our mission here at bajo is to see our customers enjoy our product for years to come, and pass that spirt on to the next generation of boater.
